Who we are
Our website address is: https://racletteclub.com. Raclette Club publishes recipes, gear comparisons and guides about raclette, and offers a free tool for planning a raclette night.
Comments
When you leave a comment, the data entered in the form, your IP address and your browser user agent string are collected to help detect spam.
An anonymised string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible next to it.
Media
If you upload images to the site, avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS): visitors can download them and extract that data.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name and email address in cookies for your convenience; these are kept for one year. If you have an account and log in, technical cookies are also set to manage your session.
Embedded content from other websites
Our articles may include embedded content (videos, images, posts). This content behaves as though you were visiting the originating website, which may collect data about you and track your interactions under its own rules.
The “My raclette night” tool
Our free party-planning tool processes the following data.
- Organiser: first name or nickname, email address, optionally a phone number, along with the date, time, location and message of the party.
- Guests: first name and email address, entered by the organiser, in order to send them the invitation and any updates to the party.
If you receive an invitation without having given us your details, the organiser entered them. You can ask us to delete them immediately by getting in touch.
The emails sent in this context are the invitation, change notifications, notice when someone drops out, a reminder the day before and a thank-you message after the party. No marketing email is sent.
A party is accessed through a link containing a random token: no account is needed. That link grants access — only share it with the people concerned.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and understand which content is being read.
Affiliate links
Some product links are affiliate links: a purchase made after clicking one may earn us a commission, at no extra cost to you. The retailer then applies its own privacy policy.
How long we retain your data
- Comments: kept indefinitely along with their metadata, so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically.
- Party data (organiser and guests): deleted automatically the day after the party.
- Contact details recorded when creating a party or replying to an invitation: limited to the 500 most recent entries.
Your rights
You can request a file containing the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, or object to its processing. These requests do not cover data we are required to keep for administrative or legal reasons.

For any question or request about your data, write to us via our contact page.
